Join us as we embark on a delightful journey through the realms of movement and cultural discovery. Whether you are a seasoned dance enthusiast or simply curious to learn more about the world of movement, we hope you leave this series with a renewed appreciation for the power of creativity, connection, and cultural exploration.

Each lecture will be held in the Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater at 7 PM and is a standalone presentation - so join us for one, a few, or all four!

THE NUTCRACKER: A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME AND TRADITION

We invite you into the magical world of The Nutcracker, one of the most beloved and enduring ballets in the classical repertoire. We will trace its roots to E.T.A. Hoffmann's 1816 fairy tale, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” and examine how the story's whimsical characters, enchanting settings, and underlying themes of imagination and transformation provided fertile ground for adaptation into a ballet.
